Exciting changes are ahead. Two weeks ago Microsoft announced the next step in the ongoing evolution of Microsoft Lync – the impending full integration with Skype and rebranding to Skype for Business in early 2015. This change has been greeted with enthusiasm by the UC community and existing Lync users. As noted in the Microsoft blog post, in the first half of 2015, “the next version of Lync will become Skype for Business with a new client experience, new server release and updates to the service in Office 365.”
